COVID-19 Actions

Our Commitment To You

The Elms Hotel and Spa is committed to caring for our guests, colleagues and community, as your safety and wellbeing is always our top priority.  Never has that commitment been clearer than it is now and that is why we are making several changes to employ stringent cleaning and safety practices for your peace of mind.

Per Clay County Public Health Center, beginning Sunday, July 5th, masks are required in all public areas of the hotelMasks are not required in your individual guestroom, while seated at your table in the restaurant/bar, within your treatment room during spa services or while outside or in the grotto.

In response to the dynamic COVID-19 situation, we would like to share actions The Elms is taking in caring for our guests and colleagues:

  • Colleague certification, training and re-certification process for hygiene and cleanliness
  • Increased frequency of cleaning with hospital-grade disinfectants on all high-touch surfaces and areas such as lobbies, guestrooms, restaurants, meeting and event spaces, recreational areas, public restrooms, fitness centers, locker rooms, elevator buttons, all employee areas, and more
  • Implementation of enhanced food safety and hygiene protocols for restaurants, room service, and group meetings and events
  • Prominently placed hand sanitizer stations throughout hotel public and employee areas and entrances
  • HVAC UV air purifier and coil sterilizer installed in all public space units to ensure sanitization and air quality
  • Use of disinfectant sanitizing foggers in every room prior to check-in and throughout public spaces to ensure sanitization
  • Protective masks and other equipment worn by hotel colleagues
  • Social distancing guidance in public areas across hotel properties
  • Evolving new policies in consideration of guidance and information shared by various health organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), local authorities, and other leading organizations and experts

Hyatt has proudly announced the Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment, which focuses on the safety and well-being of colleagues and guests in a COVID-19 world and beyond. The commitment includes plans for hotel-level health and sanitization accreditation and hygiene specialists, as well as a working group of trusted medical and industry advisors. Visit Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment to learn more about the steps Hyatt is taking to further enhance our existing rigorous protocols.

We continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation, remain vigilant, and follow recommended precautionary measures, protocols and guidelines from the Clay County Health Department on the Coronavirus front (https://www.clayhealth.com/) in an effort to ensure our guests, colleagues and community remain in a safe and healthy environment. We will make operational changes and consider additional precautionary measures, as necessary.
